the hero's return

So here's the weekend in a nutshell...

Friday:
Left home around 630. Arrived in VA late afternoon. One refuel stop (Molly Pritchard service area on NJTPK), one food stop (same). Switched drivers at same stop (I took over for Colleen). Massive traffic backups from NJTPK through VA Rt66, except for I895 in Baltimore.
Had dinner at the Elk's Lodge -- just some takeaway grinders.

Saturday:
Went out on my own in search of a particular book. Found it at the second used book store I went to (in Chantilly). Also picked up Cineplexity at Game Parlor in Chantilly.
Dinner was at Cheeseburger in Paradise in Woodbridge. They gave Marcus a birthday bowl of ice cream. He flirted with the waitresses to no end. (A two-year-old patting the waitress on the hip is okay and cute... if a 36-year-old man did it, there would have been trouble, according to my bro-in-law.)

Sunday:
Wedding. Outdoor ceremony, on the shores of Chesapeake Bay. Reception was in a semi-permanent structure 50ft away. Cramped quarters. Food was decent, chocolate fountain was decadent indeed, especially with dipping chunks of cheesecake into it.

Monday:
Left VA 930. Drove most of the usual route, but traffic was backing up on CT Rt15, so we hopped over to I95 outside of New Haven, and came up I395 to I290 to home. It took 10.5 hours, which isn't too bad considering there were also stops for diaper changes, food, bathroom, etc. Arrived home around 800pm.
Had a WtF?????? moment while watching Sopranos.

Back to the world of dreams.

mmm chocolate fountain...

Speaking of Hero... We've been watching Heroes on TV. Its given me a real urge to play some sort of superhero type of game. Do you know anything about any of the D20 modern superhero games?

Someone mentioned mutants and masterminds or something similar.

I have the first edition of M&M, as well as the Pocket Guide for the second...
We tried Silver Age Sentinels once (remember?) and it didn't work out so well.

When it comes to superheroes, I prefer the HERO/Champions system. I'm muddling my way through GURPS 4e with Powers and such, too.
