You gotta be kdding me...
I had three 20oz bottles of soda in the big fridge this morning -- a lemonade, a Dr Pepper and a Cherry Coke.
I just went to grab one of them to drink, and I noticed that someone had nicked my Dr Pepper!
Now this isn't the first time - only the second. I had a plastic container with some nice chicken salad that I had done up, and left it in there overnight. I went to get it at my next lunch break, and noted that the container was gone.
That's it. I'm either putting my name on everything and/or getting a lockbox for my stuff in that fridge.
You'd think that people here would have some modicum of maturity and honor here, that you could trust your food to be safe. Guess I thought wrong.

Wouldn't someone just feel guilty as hell taking something that isn't thiers?

If someone ever nicks my lunch before I've had a chance to get at it, then I will start complaining to the higher-ups.
As for guilt... if they felt it, they wouldn't do it.

If it does, continue doing so (leaving it and marking it as having a laxative) until it stops being taken. Then continue to leave your stuff with the marking, but without the laxative, parhaps only occasionally putting the laxative in (be sure you remember which days you do that).
Or is that to Machiavellian?

Re: suggestion...
The container (or lockbox) would have to be large enough to hold not only my lunch for the day (which varies in size), but also 3-4 20oz bottles, and other sundry things I leave in there as meal backup/supplements. Keep in mind, this is an industrial-sized fridge, too, so space is not of huge concern.
