Right, so, here we go, starting with...
Thursday, 23 December, 1900
After getting stuff into the car and nearly ready to go, we're off! Out into the heavy downpours and nasty spray that hounded us on the Mass Pike and through the northern third of Rt 84 into Hartford. Actually, it let up well before Hartford, and the rest of the drive was rather uneventful. We arrived in Manassas between 0400 and 0430 Friday morning. After getting everything inside and a bit of a wind-down, we hit bed.
Friday, 24 December, Christmas Eve

silvara77's present back at home! So like an idiot, I brave the Christmas Eve crowds at Barnes & Noble to get her a couple of books on reflexology, so she'd have something to open that night. I also dropped nearly $40 at a really cool used book store down there, and got us lunch from Panera Bread. silvara77 and her family went to mass while I stayed home and just vegged. Afterwards, we went to O'Meara's for dinner. Nice little Irish pub in Old Town Manassas, I believe... owned by one of the DC area morning DJs. The baked potato soup was outstanding. I wish the French Dip sandwich was better, though. Meat wasn't lean enough, in my opinion. We went back home and opened presents, then just relaxed the rest of the evening.
Saturday, 25 December, Christmas Day
We drive to somewhere in Maryland wheresilvara77's uncle and aunt live, and there was a gathering of her father's side of the family there. It was an all right time, nothing truly exciting to me.
Sunday, 26 December, Boxing Day
We drive to Maryland again, and pick upsilvara77's Granddachi and Grandmommy (right off the boat from Hungary and Austria), and drive to her other aunt's place for a gathering of her mom's side. Lots of cats at this place, which was cool. Good food, good times, good presents... and there was even a surprise baby shower! Nice little gifts for the baby. (More on the kiddo in another post.)
Monday, 27 December
Drive back home. Left around 1000, got back between 2000 and 2030. Nothing exciting to report, apart from being stuck in congested traffic in New Jersey a couple of times.

Back to work!
