When you see this in your friends' page, post some 1980s lyrics in your journal!

What in the world has come all over me?
I ain't got a chance at one in three
Ain't got no rap, ain't got no line
But if you give me just a minute, I'll be feelin' fine

I am the one who can fade the heat
The one they all say who just can't be beat
I'll shoot it to you straight
And look you in the eye
So give me just a minute, I will tell you why

I'm a rough boy
I'm a rough boy

I don't care how you look at me
Because I'm the one, and then you will see
We can make it work
We can make it by
So gimme one more minute and I'll tell you why

I'm a rough boy
I'm a rough boy

"Rough Boy," ZZ Top, Afterburner, 1985

Same point scale as last time: one point each for artist/group and title, with album titles used for tiebreakers.
No googling!
Answers due by 1500 Friday 17 March. (That's 300pm for us cake-eating civilians.)

On with the show! )

Here we go again. This time, no fair googling the answers.
Same scoring as before: 1 point per question, with half for the artist, half for the song title. Album titles will be used for tiebreakers.

On with the show! )

Deadline is... 1200pm EST Friday 10 March. No googling this time, folks.

Okay, I've done this before, and I'm being inspired by [ profile] potch1214's latest quiz, so... without further ado...

On with the show! )
Deadline for answer is, shall we say, 1200 EST Friday 3 March. I will post answers and results that afternoon.

[ profile] silvara77 is coming up with one of her own, and it will be posted here, as our home internet access is still down.

Was just thinking about this after seeing another friend of mine post song lyrics about today's events in London...

a place to stay
enough to eat
somewhere old heroes shuffle safely down the street
where you can speak out loud about your doubts and fears
and what's more
no one ever disappears
you never hear their standard issue kicking in your door
you can relax on both side of the tracks
and maniacs don't blow holes in bandsmen by remote control
where everyone has recourse to the law
and no one kills the children anymore
no one kills the children anymore

-- pink floyd, "the gunner's dream," the final cut
