I'm only counting the states in which I've actually set foot for a fair amount of time.
Does it count if you were passing through on your way somewhere? If so, let me know, and I'll adjust.

Written around 930am, just as a mental exercise...

It's only 930am. I'm already in need of a major nap.
I'm not quite used to the 700a-330p schedule as yet. Mind you, I'm not complaining. It now gives me some decent time to do some shopping after work and still be home before long.
What I'm not used to is having to get up before 600a, getting in the shower, and be out the door before 630. I'm used to it being dark when I'm coming home, not when I'm leaving for work.
Oh well, I'll get used to it soon enough.
It's just a long time between when I get food down my neck in the morning and lunch... but a quicker escape time afterwards.

Another thing I'm not used to here is the silence that pervades this department. There's very little cross-chatter or anything of the sort. Most of the noise I hear comes from the caf staff next door. Sometimes it's a bit on the unsettling side. I'd play a couple of CDs at low volume, just for some noise, but I'm not sure how that would go over just as yet.

Mind you, I'm not complaining about having a job and all. Just a few observations about the job.
Okay... I've been going over a few things in my mind as toward things I'd like to do this year. Most of these goals are attainable. Let's see how many I actually do.

1) Paintball. I haven't been on the fields in a few years. Hell, I have a new barrel that I bought for my Tippman that I haven't even used yet! Thing is, now I'll have to go buy a bunch of stuff: BDUs that fit me, a new goggle/mask set (since Brass Eagle doesn't make stuff for my old one anymore, and the lens has crackled), decent paint... Hopefully my old field in Upton is still running.

2) Aikido. Again, I haven't been on the mat since sometime in the winter of 95-96. There's a dojo for it here in Worcester, and they also run basic Aikido classes at an athletic center that's closer to my apartment. I'm thinking on sitting in and watching a class before making a decision. I hope that Colleen will come and watch the class too, and see what I'd be getting into.

3) Certifications. Right now, I'm planning on my Network+ cert. After that, I'll start in on a couple of MCPs on my way to becoming an MCSA. Microsoft has a new one out there too -- Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST). I'll be looking into that as well. MCSE is going to be a little ways off, probably by a couple of years of industry experience.

That's all I've got right now. More later if and when they come to me.
