Baby I'm the walking dead...
Let it be said right here and now that the above statement (taken from Concrete Blonde's "Bloodletting") describes how I feel this morning. Marcus didn't settle into bed until nearly midnight, and decided that he was going to be up again sometime between 4 and 5 this morning. So, I didn't get a lot of sleep.
We gotta work on getting him to bed earlier. I can hold off eating dinner until later.

All this lack of sleep is making me a bit on the unwell side, I think. Getting a bit of a cough.

Okay, work is becoming a little more high-tech. We now have two sets of wireless headsets, one for each of us on the support desk. We'll have to get another set if/when they hire a third person in here.
The only kink with it is that instead of just hitting the speaker button to pick up a call like with the old headsets, we have to hit the Talk button on the headset and lift the receiver.
We're waiting on these little automatic receiver lifting modules that will lift the receiver when we hit the Talk button.
But it's still cool.

I have nothing for [livejournal.com profile] friday_fu this week. There hasn't been anything that's given me ammunition. While there may be a few things about which I'm not happy, there isn't really anything that I feel deserves a mention there. I could go on about the typical mundane things like traffic or stupid callers or whatnot, but it's been done before from me. I want something with some real substance, something worth sinking my teeth into. I'm looking for an issue that's like a nice, medium-rare steak, yet the only material out there has all the substance of pudding.

As for the weekend: gaming on Saturday. Evening out at the Family Fun Fair at St Mary Church/School in Shrewsbury (no rides this year due to what happened last year). Sunday will see some time there too, I think.
Hopefully I can catch up on some sleep too.

I got the ways and means to New Orleans
I'm going down by the river where it's warm and green
I'm gonna have a drink and walk around
I got a lot to think about, oh yeah...

I just feel frickin' bored...
and a lot less like the walking dead. More like a walking coma.
Phones are quiet, but I still have about 2.5 hours to go.
Ah well...

I am Karrin Murphy.

I head up one of the most thankless jobs in Law Enforcement. Half the department thinks I'm just crazy. The other's simply convinced I'm dangerous. They all think I'm due for an early retirement. And they've all been wrong longer than they'd like.

It's my job to protect the people who can't protect themselves. I'm never one of them. Me and the boys in Special Investigations stand between the rest of Chicago and the darkness, armed only with our guns and our determination.

If you threaten one of them, or anyone I am sworn to protect, I will end you, no matter how many limbs and fangs you have, no matter how many bullets bounce off your scaly hide. I will find a way.
