1. What book or books were special to you in your childhood?
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series, Robert Asprin's MythAdventures series... I read a lot as a child, and I was reading those by the 7th grade...
2. What was particularly special or memorable about those books?
They were so imaginative, fresh, funny... and no one else in my grade was reading them at the time.
3. Have you re-read any of them as an adult?
Yep... and since the MYTH books are still going, I'm reading them.
4. If so, were the books as good as you remembered them?
Classics.
5. What do you think about movies being made out of children's classics (like the Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of The Rings, etc.)?
As long as kids recognize the fact that there are elements from the books that are missing in the movies and it gives them the urge to go and read them, then by all means. As long as it gets kids to read!
