Just a few things that have been popping into my mind as of late...

Upon perusing the list of events taking place at Total Confusion 2007, I've made the decision not to go this year. I didn't go last year, either. I've been to three TotalCons (2004 - the last one in Andover, 2005 and 2006 - in Mansfield), and they were great. However, the past couple of years brought about some changes.
1. They didn't send out brochures with event listings and registration information. They decided to do it all online. I think that sort of thing might leave those who don't use the internet much out in the cold, possibly thinking that there aren't any further cons.
2. Events are becoming fewer and fewer. I noticed this year that a couple of events were already cancelled.
3. None of the events were worth it. A few at most sounded interesting, but in general, it wouldn't be worth it to spend the money on registration, table fees and hotel room for one or two events.
That being said, I keep telling myself that I'll draw up three events that I'll run, and get free admission to the con. I've been saying that for a few years now. Nothing's been done toward it apart from writing down basic ideas. I better start working on things for TC08.

I've sort of set myself up to work a few gaming projects. These include:
GURPS Black Ops 4e - Basically converting this high-point setting from 3e to 4e and going from there. I'd want to streamline the characters though.
GURPS Dungeon - GURPS Fantasy with a D&D twist to it.
GURPS Special Ops 4e - Another conversion.
True20 Fantasy - I can run D&D 3e/3.5e adventures in True20 with little conversion work needed.
Dungeon HERO - Fantasy HERO with the ever-popular D&D twist to it.

Now, knowing this, I've also considered becoming an MiB for Steve Jackson Games, and run periodic GURPS demo games at local comic/gaming shops. I'm still working toward that.

I enjoy coming home from a long day's work. I get greeted each and every day by a smiling Marcus, who says "Daddy!" (or some variant thereof) in a loud voice, and when he sees that I've brought dinner home, he says, "Num num!"
His smile alone can make me forget about the workday. It's as intoxicating as a Percocet.
He continues to amaze us. His vocabulary grows every day. He knows when he's going to bed, too. After his evening bottle (the only real bottle we give him still) of warm milk, he sits on the couch with us for a snuggle, and then maybe five minutes later, he climbs down, takes our hands, and leads us to his crib. After we get him tucked in, he'll say "Ni-ni," and drift off to sleep.
Gotta love him.

More later. Out here.
