The job at Staples didn't pan out. They found someone who they thought would fit the job better than me. Don't know why, I had really good feelings on that one.

Back to the grind of job searching.

not to sound like a smartass but have you tried looking for scut work to hold you over till a real job tracks along?

I've tried that route once before, and I was turned down by a couple of places because they believed that I would leave at the drop of a hat. They weren't looking for a quick turnover like that.

Also, I'd be making more per week on unemployment.
