I'm getting pretty sodding tired of this job market...

Had an interview on Friday afternoon (1 August) with Bay State Savings for a Technical Support/IT position. I thought that the details of the job sounded pretty good, and that I could handle whatever was thrown at me. One thing that did kind of worry me was that the whole paperwork/interview took an hour to do, with the paperwork taking up the bulk of it.
Well, today's Saturday, 2 August, and already I have a letter mailed to me stating that they're passing me over and going with other candidates. WTF??? Not even a fucking grace period of a weekend. Knock me down when I'm feeling halfway decent about myself for even getting an interview already!
I have an interview on Tuesday morning with Unicom in Rhode Island to do Field Support. Short-term contract of four to eight weeks, with a chance of longer work Looks like I need to pull luck in for that one too.
Now Colleen's brother Johnny has suggested that I look down in VA for a job. Their market sucks just as badly or worse for people in my field. Yet he still thinks that somehow I'll manage to obtain one. C and I think it's just that he wants her back down where he is. I know family's family and all, but she's got it pretty good up here, working at a school where the other teachers like her, the kids adore her, and there's a good working environment (for the most part).
At this rate, I'm going to end up bagging groceries at minimum wage and hating every minute of it, putting off certification studies and tests... or worse, the managers at whatever store I apply to won't even accept me because I'm highly technically qualified and would leave the job in a heartbeat should something in my field come along. It's happened before.

I need a fucking break, and I need it PDQ.

Check www.recorder.com and www.gazettenet.com, I think there's an IT / Network Admin position in Greenfield.

And Greenfield is how far from Worcester?
(Can't really work a move... Colleen works in Shrewsbury, and we just moved last year. Our buddies said that if we move again too soon, we're on our own.)

Oh, say an hour or so. Not much different from commuting into Boston.

Looked at the ad though... I don't qualify since I'm not Novell certified, nor do I have any MCP certs yet...
Thanks though.

Not alot of Novell and MCP people out this way.

I couldn't hurt to apply.
