Sunday proved to be interesting.
Spent the morning at Fallon Urgent Care. Original reason was that both of my ears had been hurting, and it was also in my throat and upper chest. I thought I had both an ear infection in both ears (which I found out is not common) and an upper respiratory infection. Wrong. Something viral that's going around.
But that's not the interesting bit. The doctor I saw had also asked me other questions about my health -- specifically toward the colitis and anemia, and she also checked on my last bit of bloodwork. She had noticed (like the doctor -- not my own doctor, mind you -- who looked at my last bloodwork noticed) that my TSH levels were abnormal. However, unlike the previous doctor (who was covering for my vacationing physician), she decided to act on it. She had more bloodwork done up, and the levels are still off, or at least off enough to elicit some concern. She told me that she would be leaving a voice mail with my doctor, and I should be hearing from him sometime today about the next course of action. I'm expecting medication for hyperthyroidism, and possibly a visit with a thyroid specialist in the near future. Plus, I'm seeing my own doc in a month, with Colleen in tow.
So that took the morning.
Afterwards, we all went to Denny's, where Marcus proceeded to sleep through about 2/3 of our brunch. (I had to cut Colleen's food, as one of her arms was occupied.) When he did awaken, we fed him a whole jar of butternut squash... that is, when he wasn't looking around the restaurant, trying to be a big flirt. :)
We went to my parents' place for pizza and cake for Marcus' 6-month (or half-year) birthday. Six months. Holy socks, where did the time go?

I'm feeling rather better today. Ears feel better, chest isn't uncomfortable, and there's just a little discomfort around the larynx from time to time. Odd that... since that's where the thyroid is.

Oh, I'm thinking on creating a new community, for those who saw my previous post on building that huge city for a D&D campaign. It's called [livejournal.com profile] dnd_cities.The announcement will be cross-posted to various other communities.

Glad to hear this doctor was a bit more proactive. I don't think I knew what some of the health things were that you've referred to in past entries. My dad has (had?) colitis (although it seems to be well under control from what I last heard, but he still takes stuff for it).

Hey Adam!

Glad you're feeling better. Sucks you had to go in on your day off for that sort of stuff, but I'm glad the doc seems to be on top of things.
