Sometimes, it just doesn't pay to get up...

Don't get me wrong... I had a rather good weekend.

Saturday: Colleen and I trek down to the library, since she needs to look at books for her incoming class' reading list. No probs.
We go to Prifti's (a local chocolatier -- yum!) to look at wedding invitations. (Yes, they deal with those as well.)
We get Wendy's for lunch and take it to our neighbor's flat for the Saturday gaming session. All right.
When we get back, we end up cleaning the bathroom, organizing the sink area. It looks great. Woo hoo.
Dinner, and just general relazing and such. Good evening.

Sunday: Colleen goes off to school to work on the massive amounts of grading she has to do while I go off to the Sunday gaming session. (All in all, lots of fun.)
Leave early so we can go to the Sole Proprietor for Mom's birthday dinner. Crowded as hell for a Sunday because both Notre Dame and UMass College of Pharmacology held their graduations that day. I choose my dinner, only to find out that the turf part (beef tenderloin) isn't available cos they're out... end up with the herbed chicken with my salmon. I didn't mind, but I've been eating a lot of chicken over the past few days... and though I was hungry, I wouldn't go so far as to say that I was feeliing, erm, peckish. Heh.

I gots busy day today...
Hitting WalMart in order to find a pair of black sneakers that are neither a wide size nor has those stupid velcro straps instead of laces... Petco to get food for Julius... WW to see if I can get new books for Colleen... Colleen starts her stress management course tonight... told her that I'd clean up the living room, dining area, and the fridge... got dishes to do... I told her I'd do it, and I meant it, so I'm gonna do it. However, I'm not gonna start until after MASH is over, then I'll jump into the shower to start my day. Usual thing here.

Oh to be a cat... zonk out 16-18 hours a day, get scritched...

There's a reason why I don't like morning television... I keep seeing commercials for places like CEI, ITT, and my personal favorite, Clark University Computer Career Institute (where I took classes)...
They're all on about how you can get training with them and then get a great job with your newfound skills and possibly certification.
As a recent veteran of this sort of deal, I can honestly say that yes, you can get the training, and yes, you can get the certification. But a job? Good freakin' luck. That certification doesn't mean loads if everyone and his uncle has the same thing. Plus, there aren't that many jobs out there right now. If there were, I'd have one right now, and wouldn't be ranting on this.
(Note that this is not an official rant... if it were, I'd have started it off with something like, "Now I don't wanna get off on a rant here," but I can't use that since it's copyrighted, and I'd end it with, "Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong," but again can't, same reason.)
These ads are just enforcing an illusion of something that's not actually there, and these people who fall into it will be disappointed when they're in my shoes afterwards. It's not pleasant sitting around, looking at the papers and job search engines every day, and find nothing.
*sigh*
As I stated earlier, sometimes it's not worth getting up in the morning...
Of course, that's just me talking...
