Updates on stuff:

Job: Been up at a new high school in Nashua. Here's an interesting story...
Tuesday was supposed to be my first day up there. I was told to report there by 0700 for a safety lecture. Okay, I thought... get up around 0500, leave the house around 0600 at the latest, since Nashua's about an hour away. Okay. No problem.
Correction -- comes the problem.
A pair of morons drive their car off of 495N about a mile north of the Rt 117 Bolton exit, somewhere around 0430. One of these winning geniuses decides to get back onto the highway to flag someone down for help. Well, I'm not sure of the whole story, but somehow two semis got involved. I know this because I saw them on a couple of heavy-duty tow trucks. Plus, somehow there was a bit of a fuel spill. This backs traffic up to about the Rt 62 Hudson exit when I hit the backup. Took me about 30-45 minutes to get out of there -- at about 0700. I call my project manager and tell him the situation. I also call the lead tech, leaving voice mail. More on him further down. So, I try to make time in getting up there.
I get to the school at 0730. Not bad in making up time and considering that I had to travel on Rt 3N. However, I get in there, try to get into the safety lecture. Wasn't allowed in, no matter what the excuse. The guy holding the class was being a prick about it, too. So, I call both the tech guy and my PM again, and was told to just sit tight, they'll see what they can do.
Well, the lead tech got caught in the same backup. He was shooting to get up into Nashua around 0900. He didn't arrive until 1130. In the meantime, my PM and the lead tech had arranged for me to still work, doing stuff outside the building. However, as I was waiting for the tech as he went into the school, a rep from the city of Nashua saw me without safety gear, called me and the tech on the carpet, and I was sent home and told to come back Wednesday in time for the lecture. Okay, fine, I was out of there around 1200, back in Worcester around 1300 or so.
Wednesday: Get up at 0500 again, leave at the same time. Clear sailing. Drove there, made it. Got the lecture, and even an apology from the lecture guy. He said that it wasn't directed at me personally, but at the UNICOM guys, since, according to him, they have been habitually late for the lectures. Made me feel better about it.
On Thursday, I get to leave Nashua at 1400 in order to get to UNICOM in Woonsocket RI by 1600 for a training session for a project at Bryant College on Labor Day. (Need the money... gotta pay the priest at the wedding.)
Friday, working at Sovereign Bank... dunno which one where or what I'd be doing. I hope I'm briefed on it soon.

Bowling:
We clinched third place in the final week of the summer league. This was pretty damned good for a team consisting of someone who's not terribly good at the game (66 average), two people who really just started it earlier this year (ended up with about an 81-82 average for me and Colleen), and someone who pretty much started up last fall in a league, and is doing the same league again (~96 average)...
We'll be doing this again next year. In the meantime, C and I will be practicing a couple times a month, we figure.

That's all for now!
