Pink's Life
And so we come to another Thursday.
I think the weather is making up for the chilly months of April and May, and with a vengeance to boot. Temps in the mid to high 80s, that sticky feeling from the humidity... and it's not quite summer yet. I'd sort of hate to see if the summer's going to be like this... or worse.
Spent last night putting the ACs back in the windows. According to Colleen, it's much appreciated this morning. Marcus isn't putting in his two cents about it though. I think he's just content enough with sleeping, feeding, and the odd bit of Thrash About on the Floor.
Thing is, putting the one in the living room was an ordeal and a half. I figured it would be the easier of the two, since the lightweight case is put into the window before the heavy innards. Well... I was sort of right. First off, let me say that our windows are old and shoddy. The storm windows aren't quite big enough to fit perfectly in the frames. So the outer storm window falls and jams in the frame. As I'm trying to work one of the latches free, the inner sash decides to play gravity's game and comes crashing down on my left wrist and right hand. Oh, that hurt like a MF for a good ten minutes. But nothing was broken. I manages to get everything installed, though.
The bedroom unit was much easier, but I require help with that one since someone has to hold it while it's positioned and the window clamps down on it, only because it's a whole unit. If gravity takes over, it's time to buy a whole new unit. But that was over and done with inside of an hour total.
My bro-in-law is coming up for a couple of days. He'll be arriving sometime on Sunday, leaving sometime on Tuesday, Colleen's birthday. Hopefully I'll have the PC up and running by then so she can post and read LJ.
I still have my sore throat and a bit of the sniffles. Took some Sudafed this morning, hopefully that'll help clear me out. If the throat's still bad by the weekend, I'll go see someone.
I need an air break soon...
