Pink's Life

In truth, I have nothing really exciting to report right now. Things are progressing along as they would.

Marcus had a much better day on Tuesday than he did on Monday. Monday was Bottomless Pit Day. All he wanted to do was feed. It was driving Colleen spare. However, he was much better yesterday. Must have been a growth spurt or something. He's got to be back up to his birth weight by now. He was weighed on 1 June, and was 10lb-12oz, which was a little less than his original weight, but he gained 1.5 inches, measuring 23 inches now. So it's a week later, he should have gained three more ounces.
We've also adopted Floor Time. We spread a blanket on the floor, set him on his back, and just let him flail about for a while.
I've got care of him tonight and tomorrow night, since Colleen has a few school-related things to do. Hopefully he won't be too much of a bother so I can broil up some brats for dinner.
Sleep patterns have changed for me, though. I roll out of bed around 730 to grab a shower and all that, and I'm out the door around 800. I don't even really think about hitting bed until he's settled down and zonked, and that can be anywhere from 2330 to 0030. I've been starting to nod out in the living room, since the fan in there makes this nice, relaxing droning sound, and when it's the only thing you can hear, it becomes white noise and it relaxes me.
It's hard to believe that he's just over a calendar month old... where does the time go? This Friday, it'll be five weeks. Sometimes it seems like he's been around longer than that.
Love him to pieces though. Can't wait until he actually smiles and laughs. Once we figure he's starting to somewhat understand us, that's when I'll start talking to him in two languages. Maybe Colleen will pick up on German as well.
That, and we'll teach him to sign too.

Woke up with a sore throat this morning. Not sure why. It's lingering, still. If it's still around tomorrow, I'll drop into Urgent Care on the way home.

And in the meantime, the work never ends, it just plays on and on and on and on...
