Hump Day... though I feel like I'm the hump everyone's rolling over...
Marcus didn't truly conk out until sometime after 1230am. Granted, it was an off day, with him staying at my parents' until about 830p. We thought we had him conked out a couple of times, but he'd wake up within five minutes. I feel like a shambling coma again...

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] silvara77 and I went to Chuck's Steak House last night for dinner. She got the 8oz sirloin with teriyaki sauce and a baked sweet potato. I opted for the 10oz filet (cooked medium) with a baked potato (butter, sour cream, cheese and those fried onion things). Salad bar was included. Yum!

If you've never watched Noggin, I would suggest having a look at one show in particular -- Oobi. Nothing more than hands with eyeballs. Not sure what it is, but it's somewhat addictive to watch.

Gamer's Den

I've been working on an idea for a campaign setting for nearly a week now... this is for D&D 3.5e.
The primary backdrop is The City (at least, that's what it's called until I come up with a better name for it). It's huge, maybe 15-20 miles across. More like a big city-state.
Beyond the walls of the City is a strip of land that's anywhere from 4-6 miles across where there are some minor farming settlements, perhaps a mine or three, some light industrial sites, and military outposts.
At the edge of the boundaries are the Outer Markers. This is the edge of What's Known in the World. Beyond that is the Unknown. Thing is, you can't really make out anything beyond the markers, as it's very hazy and misty.
In the course of recent history, say in the past couple of hundred years, there are records of expedition parties heading out into the Unknown -- very few, if any, have ever returned. Those that have returned in a very short period of time, never getting any further than perhaps a few miles from the Markers.

What I have to do with this:
Design the City. This is the biggest of the tasks. Good thing I will be using the DMG and DMG II for this, as there are sections on citybuilding. Have to come up with economics, government, religion (not using the standard pantheon here), militia, and the like. Let's not forget some sort of map, too.
Work on the Unknown. Probably the second biggest task. I'm keeping mum on this one here.
Adventuring. Once it's done, gotta have something for the PCs to do.

If anyone out there who's a gamer wants to toss a few words or ideas at me, I'll listen. I've got some really good ideas on one aspect of the Unknown...

Carry on.

The governor of Lousiana was interviewed recently, not necessarily about what happened in New Orleans, but more on his political views.
When asked about his opinion concering Roe vs Wade, he stated, "I don't care how they get out of New Orleans, so long as they get out."
