So the big thing I wanted to do on Saturday was get the washing machine repaired. The basics of it is that the agitator doesn't agitate, and the tub doesn't spin. Okay, little bit of research online later, find out that it has to do with a coupler between the motor and the gearbox. Okay, fine. Time to do some phyiscal rooting about.
So Dad came over to help out on Saturday. After fiddling with getting the back panel off and a little bit of water spillage, we decided to just turn the bugger onto its back and look up through the bottom. There I found the motor, and the most probable cause of the problem (at least according to online sources) -- the coupler. This item consists of two toothed plastic discs which fit into a third holed disc made of a hard rubber. It was the rubber disc that was well worn away in several parts, at least nearing half-disintegrated, as evident from the black dust I saw around that area.
So now I'll be picking up that part, and Dad and I will replace it next weekend. Hopefully it'll work out.
Yesterday was a big point in the life of our little guy. We took him to Babies R Us so that he could pick out his very first potty. He chose the Fisher Price model that sings to him when he sits on the seat, flushes, and spins the TP roll.
More later... creating a wiki site for my RPG activities, and now my PC at work won't connect to the Exchange server... gotta reboot and try again...
