So it's been a good while since I've actually written anything on here that wasn't meme-involved, so here goes.

As of late, the apartment is starting to take shape. Colleen and I took a weekend to work on the living room and dining room. While things still aren't perfect, they're getting better. As of now, the living room furniture has been moved around, Marcus' room is, for the most part, all his now (with lots of toys and playspace), the Christmas tree (small one) is up-decorated-lit, the archway between the living room and dining room has lights strung on it, so they can play in their randomness (fading, flashing, whatnot)... the rest of the place may have to wait until after New Years... but at least it will be a great resolution.

Marcus surprised the hell out of us one morning. Colleen was already at school on this particular morning, and I was in the bedroom getting myself ready before getting Marcus ready for the day. I just happened to look up, and there was this three-foot-high figure in blue in the doorway, smiling at me with this big grin. "How the hell did you get out???" I shouted. He managed to climb out of his crib with the bar raised to its full height. What a little monkey. However, that was a one-time thing. He hasn't done it since. To be on the safe side, we put a folded thick blanket on the floor by his crib, and there's now a gate in the doorway.

The job's going well. I do get my share of idiots and hectic moments (like outages), but on the whole, it's fun. At least it's better than my last job. The atmosphere is a hell of a lot better, the commute is far better, the surrounding food options are far better... it's just better.

This next week is going to be spent in preparation for the annual Get the Hell Out of Worcester During Christmas vacation. We're leaving Saturday 23 December, and returning 1 January. I'll have LJ access in VA.

By the by, I would suggest trying the food at Wings Over Worcester, over at Kelly Square. Great boneless wings, especially the honey lime and garlic parmesan. Look 'em up on the web or check out their ad in Worcester Magazine.

I've been fighting a cold/bug for going on a couple of weeks now. Monday morning I felt horrible -- nose was completely plugged up, and I was in nasty coughing fits. This all happened in the wee hours, so I didn't get much sleep, even though I had taken some of that Theraflu Warming stuff. (Not bad, tastes better than the Tylenol nighttime cold stuff.) So I stayed home on Monday so I could rest up and fight off this bug.

Marcus is doing very well. His vocabulary is growing every day. The latest new word is "Johnny," especially since his Uncle Johnny is up here for a couple of days for a pre-Christmas visit.
He's also a dancing fool. We've got video of him dancing to "Sweet Child of Mine" one day. He's going to love this Christmas.

On the gaming front -- I haven't been participating in any groups as of late. I'm thinking that I'll start back up after New Year's. In the meantime I've been working on my PBI (Play By Internet) GURPS game, and I've discovered True20. This is a slimmed-down version of the d20 system, so it's more fast-paced. I bought the PDFs for the main book, bestiary, magic items and character paths (so that I can run a fantasy game). I'm working on converting a few modules over so that I can try to run them sometime soon.

That's all for now.
More news when it happens.
