Well I managed to make it in without too much of a hassle. Somehow, I expected there to be at least a 2ft berm at the end of the driveway. But it wasn't that bad.
Colleen was impressed that Shrewsbury delayed opening their schools by two whole hours this morning. I've noticed that there are more delays than closings with this storm.
I felt a bit odd at the start of the drive in this morning, like it wasn't really my body or something. My eyes both felt weird, almost independent of each other. (Sing it now: "He's got Marty Feldman eyes...") However, since I'm now here at work, I feel a bit more myself. My back isn't killing me, I've only got the minor aches in random sections of my head, and I'm hungry enough to attack the lemon-filled donut I bought yesterday morning.
However, I think I'll treat myself to a whiskey and coke tonight... thing is, do I use the Bushmill's for it, or settle for the Seagram's 7?
Maybe one of the reasons why my eyes feel a bit oogy is that for the past, oh, week or so, here and there, I've been writing out all the lyrics to Thick as a Brick into Tengwar (Elvish script)... Don't ask me why. This is probably the same little bit inside me that decided to translate The Wall into German one summer. Of course, when I'm done writing it all out and then typing it into word using some really cool Tengwar fonts, I'll be doing the same thing for A Passion Play. What's next... writing up The Divine Comedy? Or perhaps Faust?
Feh... I'm still not fully awake and coherent right now...
Maybe after I get some food down my throat...
And just like a lot of my friends from the MBI, I'm concerned, nay, worried about
paladyn. I know he's been on patrol since sometime last month, but come on, it shouldn't be over a month...
I need a nap...
24 days and a wakeup until my vacation... Virginia and Jamaica, get ready!

Jamaica?

Re: Jamaica?
Colleen and I are going with her parents and two sets of their friends. They do this every year around Easter, something about Reunion Weekend. They manage to get great deals on their trips too.
It'll be my first time there. Any tips/suggestions?
(Colleen is very much looking forward to the pool bar...)

You'll have a lovely bus ride from the airport to the resort. If your wife's family has been there before, they'll know the routine. Looking at a map of Jamaica, you'll probably have an hour and a half on a bus if you land in Montego Bay.
The prices for everything outside the resort is in Jamaican dollars, but they'll expect you to pay in US dollars. :)
Hopefully, you got the All-Inclusive package. So sit back and abuse your liver. You won't have much reason to leave the resort. I fully recommend sticking with club sactioned guides.
I have to scan in some pictures of my trip, cuz really, I broke that rule by going on a tour of the local area with a dealer. It was fun.
Try the pineapple (if you like pineapple). Definitely try the...umm...Eggs and Ackee.
I'm not sure how things are in Ocho Rios, but Negril had a lot of dealers. Don't be surprised by them. If you look young, they'll approach you rather boldly.
And coming back, the time of departure is a total lie. Really, I took Air Jamaica to and from the Island. I was supposed to leave at 3 PM, I didn't get off the ground until 9.
Oh...MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR TRAVEL DOCUMENTS!!!!! Either your passport or a copy of your birth certificate and an official type of picture ID. You may want to check with the airline to see exactly what you'll need.

Everything is all-inclusive. I'm not a big drinker, but I will have a list of drinks (and ingredients) that I'll try while I'm there. Also planning on hitting the duty-free while there and getting a bottle of Drambuie... and, if they have it, Glayva...
Not a pineapple fan... Ackee?
And the birth certificate and driver's license will be going with me, since I don't think I have time to get a passport now. Already know about that one.
Thanks for the tips.
If possible, I'll update my LJ from there, if the resort has an internet connection...

They'll charge you 5 bucks an hour or something.
I'm not sure if the rooms will be internet enabled. But how cares, you'll be in freakin' Jamaica.
