(Started on Tuesday night, 2203hrs)
As I sit here watching Whose Line Is It Anyway? while sipping at some IBC root beer in a cocktail glass like it was a fine, dark whisky, I start to think about where I am in life.
I'm in my early 30s. I've been married for 13 months this coming Thursday. I have a child on the way, due sometime in early May. I live in a nice apartment, second floor of a three-decker. I have a Maine Coon cat that is the sweetest cat I've ever been around. I have groups of friends with whom I hang around with and, mostly, game.
Those are the good things.
Bad thing #1: I'm out of work. I feel rather useless during the day, when I should be working on getting the flat in order. I procrastinate, using TV, Dungeon Siege or some other computer game, and the 'net as excuses to put things off. They're distractions. I'm easily distracted at times. It's not a good quality to have, really... but I have it, and I can work through it.
(Now it's Wednesday morning...)
It's amazing what a good night's sleep can do for you, even if you do wake up a few times for biological reasons...
So what's on the agenda for today? Well, I'm pretty much skipping breakfast, and wondering what I'm gonna do for lunch. Another day of soup and a grilled sandwich? Or do I eat some of the leftover beef-n-cheddar sausages that I made the other night? Plus, I don't know what I'm doing for supper. I think I might have to head off to Fairway Beef and pick up some burger and cube steak.
Gods, but did this turn into a nothing post...
I have an interview in Needham for a PC Tech position with the VNA tomorrow. Veteran's Day. Last VD,
silvara77 and I drove up to Woburn so I could sign paperwork for a contract job, had lunch, and got into an accident on the way home. Car repairs took until just about New Year's, due to insurance and Bancroft Motors not ordering the parts and giving us the car back in time for our annual trip to Manassas. Hopefully it won't be like that this year.
That is all. Nothing more to report.
Carry on.
