The Life of Pink
When we last left our hero, he was going through what he had hoped to be a typical Tuesday afternoon.
[belushi] But nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! [/belushi]
Had a Customer Support group meeting scheduled for 1715. I get this call from someone trying to get things rolling with a setup he inherited from a station that his station bought out. This call lasted over an hour, mostly with issues that any decently-trained and experienced station engineer *should* be able to suss out and handle. [belushi] But nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! [/belushi] He has to call us anyways to ask what he should do! Plus he had me on the line for twenty minutes while he looked for Windows Notepad -- on a machine running WINDOWS FREAKIN' 3.1 FerGodSake! Needless to say I missed 95% of my meeting. Plus after that was over, I saw that there was a new call in the queue. Can't leave it sit overnight, that would screw up our response time numbers big time. Plus, it had my name on it. Frek. I thought I was going to be running even later. Damned good thing we didn't have birth class last night. Turns out I was out of here shortly after 1800. Better. Still, it would have been even better if I had that new tape deck in the car, but that'll be done this weekend.
So now our hero wakes up earlier than usual this morning, since C popped herself out of bed nearly a half hour before her regular time, as there's things at school she wanted to get taken care of. I move myself into the living room a half hour earlier than normal, and help C move the new car seat down to her car so she can have it installed. The headache I've been feeling since I left this morning is starting to subside since I got an english muffin with butter and garlic cream cheese down my neck, along with some citrus punch and ibuprofen.
When it comes to the support phones here, our hero is pretty much on his own until... 25 April, by the looks of it. His partner in crime left for Vegas for the NAB trade show this morning. He comes back in a week, but is taking a few days of vacation right after he gets back.
Our hero has finally sent out his taxes as of this morning. For the first time in a few years, we don't owe money -- we're getting money back. That'll be going towards the furniture.
Lunch... I'm thinking about it now since it's around 1100, and there's usually an order list going up. I brought a rice pilaf and cream corn mixture that was leftover from Sunday night, but that's a side -- I need meat! I think I'll order up some chicken fingers or something.
Strike that, getting a small sub with roast beef and turkey. I'll eat half of it with my rice.
Y'know, since my cohort in crime isn't in, I don't think people will mind if I have the radio on in the background. It helps the day, and it's not so damned quiet.
As far as Aikido goes... I'll see how I feel. If I still have a headache after everything today, I'll most likely skip out. Not fun at all rolling around on the mat when you have a real splitter going through your eyes.
However, I won't miss next week -- dojo's chief sensei is teaching again, and it's the last class. Have to be there.
Headache is just barely lingering in the foreground, or rather forehead. Sort of like in the center. I don't really feel it much unless I move about suddenly.
That's all I have for now
Nothing more to report
Carry on
