Pink's Life

So this was an interesting weekend, on the whole. I'll start off with Friday night.

Company came over, namely in the form of [livejournal.com profile] paladyn, [livejournal.com profile] ibabeu, and Amanda. Everyone got to meet the wee one, and we just hung out, ate pizza and grinders, chatted, reminisced, did some catching up with other things, too. [livejournal.com profile] paladyn brought Marcus a nice prezzie -- Bruce the Shark from Finding Nemo. A good time was had by all.

Saturday was a day for running around and doing errands, though we had gotten a slightly late start. We hit That's Entertainment for comics, the bank to deposit checks, The YWCA to change our membership, Greendale Mall so Colleen could get some birthday things for another teacher and I could do some clothes shopping, and then Target for some sundry stuff. After all that was settled, we dropped Marcus off at my parents' house so Colleen and I could go to a very nice dinner out for her birthday. We went to the Vienna in Southbridge. More on that in another post, as it deserves a post of its own.

Sunday was a later start on errands. We hit CVS to process digital pictures, Lowe's to get Dad a Dad's Day present (electric screwdriver since he can never find a regular one), and Price Chopper for sundry groceries. After that, we went over to [livejournal.com profile] lawful_evil's place to show off the kiddo, then back over to my parents' place to give Dad his Dad's Day stuff.
Yes, I spent Dad's Day doing what every proud new Dad does -- show off the new kid to people.

And now, back to Monday.

On a bit of a side note...
I love my late evening routine, which starts sometime just after Colleen decides to go to bed.
I sort of plan out when Marcus will get his late-night bottle. A little before that, I take a Percocet so it will have time to work its magic in my system sometime after he's done. I love the detached feeling you get when you take one of them and you're just lying flat out on the couch. Your head and arms feel sort of there yet not there.
Needless to say, I'm not going to become addicted to these things. Granted, they help me sleep when my hip is hurting, but I'm not taking these things every night, only when I am hurting.

Back to your regularly scheduled Monday morning.
