Some things just never cease to amaze me.
Pretty much life in general these days, but certain aspects of it really hit me.
Marcus is a big one.
When Colleen is taking stuff down to the car in the morning, Marcus spends a little time with me. I sit him on my stomach, hold him up, watch him smile at me with that big gummy grin... I think he looks too damned cute for words with his little bare feet sticking out of the cuffs of his pants. It's a shame to put shoes on him at that point. But that's a highlight of the morning.

On to Katrina's Aftermath. It appears that we've got about 250 evacuees (sic) at Otis right now. On top of the relocation, they also get that $2000 debit card. Yeah, that'll last them long on the Cape...
Speaking of those cards... how much of that money do you really think is going to be spent wisely on getting feet back on the ground? I agree with some of the talk radio that I've heard lately -- most of that money will be used for cigarettes, booze and beer. And if they can get to one that's open and working, how many White Castle gutbombs can you get with one of those cards?
Nice gesture, but I don't think they'll be used in the same manner as the government thinks they'll be used.

Lately I've been perusing sites about alternate histories. So far, the best one I like is http://althistory.blogspot.com. Their feed can be read here at [livejournal.com profile] althistoryblog. Rather interesting. There are timelines I don't care about, but some are really intriguing. Sort of makes me want to play or run TimeLords again at some point.

Got a small entry for [livejournal.com profile] friday_fu brewing...

I need a day off somewhere... but I've only got about 13 hours of sick time left until December. It doesn't roll over, so maybe I'll take a day or something soon... maybe half a sanity day.

Thanks to Family Guy, I have "Rock Lobster" going through my head... well, part of it, really...

More later if/when things develop.
