Okay, I realize that it's been a while since I've done an update, so here goes...

Job front: I've a couple of nibbles on a couple of contract positions. They came in rather late last week, so now it's the waiting period to see if I get an interview.

Colleen heads off for Ocean City MD on Thursday morning, and won't be back for a week and a half. So it'll just be me and the cat here. Bachelor time, which means bachelor food, bachelor TV, bachelor hours, and sleeping on the air mattress in the living room. This also means long periods of time whining stuff like, "What the hell do I want to eat???"

D&D 3.5e comes out later this week. I'm planning on only getting the Player's and DM's books, probably through Amazon, along with a book or two to help me study for the Network+ exam. I managed to pick up an ExamCram box set for the first four MCSE exams for like $30 at Barnes & Noble over the weekend.

Colleen and I were in the Valley on Saturday with my parents, mostly in Noho. Spent most of the time at Vermont Country Deli, Space Crime Continuum (nice new games area in there, but apparently no discounts like my local comic/gaming shop), and Raven Books.
I kept thinking that it would have been interesting -- not to mention cool -- if I ran into one of my old chummers out there, but alas, I didn't. Oh well, perhaps next time.

By the by, it's worth your time to see Pirates of the Carribean. Johnny Depp was excellent, playing the role just this side of over the top. Orlando Blook was very good as well, as was Geoffrey Rush. (Always thought that Rush played a good villain ever since Mystery Men.)

On Friday, Colleen and I spent part of the early afternoon bowling, just to kill time and have a bit of a practice session. I have no idea how I managed to get a 112 string -- first time I've ever broken a hundred in candlepin! Now if I can only work that into a league night...

That's all for now... more later as things warrant...

Anyone else out there have to deal with PharmaCare? Most likely if you get your prescriptions filled at CVS or Brooks or Walgreens... especially if you have Fallon as your HMO.

Since Fallon has switched over to PharmaCare to handle their prescriptions, we've had nothing but problems at any of the Fallon pharmacies. Most notable are:

  • Colleen calls in for a refill of her Pills (yes, those pills) on a Sunday morning around 8.30. Typically this is not a problem, as it's a pre-packaged medication. We know that they like to have a 24-hour period to fill it, but as I have said, we have never had a problem with waltzing in after 6.00 pm and picking them up. Last time, they hadn't even gotten to the scrip at 6.00 pm, and told us that there would be a 45-minute wait. Naturally, Colleen gets upset at this.

  • Today, Colleen has another scrip in. She dropped it off at like 4.30-ish this afternoon after an appointment, and both parties agreed that she'd pick it up after 8.00 pm today. Well, she's still sitting there at 8.40, after being told that it would be anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes for them to get around to it!

So now I'm sitting here with a dinner that's all set and ready to go, perfectly timed for 8.30... and now it prob won't be touched until well after 9.00...

We are becoming fed up with PharmaCare at Fallon. Even though CVS is under PharmaCare now (I believe, maybe that's how they can take Fallon scrips now), we're gonna give Fallon pharmacies the finger and go to CVS, and pretty much tell them that fact. (Minus the finger... well, out in the open, at least).

Anyone else with pharmacy woes out there?
