So...
Colleen gets a call from Bancroft Motors this morning, concerning her car. She was told that now she won't see it until after Christmas.
She effectively let them have it with a verbal M18 Claymore, using such elements as:

  • We were originally told that we would have the car back on 12/19;

  • her father just having quadruple bypass surgery;

  • herr grandmother just having a lumpectomy;

  • and (I quote directly here) "there is no way that I'm missing Christmas in Virginia!"

She then went on with Bancroft's people saying that we would have a car so we could make the trip. Originally, they said that they don't provide cars for temporary use. That's when Colleen went into her tirade.
So... the other woman put her on hold for a moment. Then someone else came on the line and gave her the number for Enterprise, and said that they would pay for a car for us to use from Wednesday to Monday.
All I could think was... Damn! Squeaky wheel time.

So we're going. It'll be interesting in this car, but we're going.

So here's the thing with this week...

My supervisor's out until 2 January.
The guy in Portland ME who handles the call queue from 9am to 12pm is out this week.
I'm picking up a couple extra hours during this week by working like 10-8 on Monday and Tuesday and 8-4 on Wednesday. I have the rest of the week off.

I've been here 3.5 hours now, and the queue is slow. Oh, there's 13 calls in it, but I have to wait for these people to get back to me with status on their service before I can close them, but it's damned slow...
Getting bored out of my skull.
Already finished catching up on User Friendly... I could work on Sluggy or something...
Though with the job I have, UF is a hell of a lot funnier...
Gonna be a quiet few days around here...

Okay, with several factors here:

  • Colleen's play is over and done with...

  • We have a car arranged for our annual trip...

  • The house is slowly getting straightened up...

We can finally concentrate on Christmas! Woo hoo!
With what, three days before the big day? Shows you how much time and energy gets eaten up when:

  • One car is in the shop...

  • The driver of the other car doesn't get out of work until 8pm...

  • You haven't done all your shopping...

  • You haven't gotten all the gifts assembled as yet...

  • The house is just in continual clutter...

  • At least one person gets sick during a weekend...

  • Snowstorms...

  • General laziness and/or apathy...

  • The house doesn't look like Christmas... but the tree is up (but still nekkid)...

I think the real sign that Christmas is coming and we can finally have some time to just collapse and relax was [livejournal.com profile] volare's YuleFest 2003. What fun!
Well, that and going to my parents' house this past weekend, having a really good homecooked meal and prezzies, including a whopping new 27" TV... (shocker there)
Gods, I could use a gaming session about now :)

If I don't type another entry beforehand, Happy Yule and Christmas to all. Be safe, be merry, be yourselves!
