So, on Tuesday morning,
silvara77 and I went to a holistic health expert that she's been seeing. I take my mom's appointment since I have the time and opportunity.
What I found interesting was the number of energy connections the body has. Organs are related to certain muscle groups, and will react a certain way if that organ is not working properly.
No real big surprises -- my gastro-intestinal system is fouled up. The system is not really telling the brain to repair itself. So, I'm going to be put on a supplement regimen for a couple of months.
Also, during those couple of months, I'm to lay off as much wheat and corn as possible. This, on the whole, interests and depresses me, since I love pasta and bread. However, all hope is not lost. There's rice crackers (especially the oriental ones), spelt bread and pasta, quinoa, and the like. It's gonna hurt at the start, and I'm sure that I'll probably stumble here and there, but I gotta do what I gotta do.
Amazingly enough, I'm not sensitive to dairy and sugars, so they're okay.
Now I'm just waiting for Trader Joe's to get in their shipment of white spelt bread so I can try it. I got some rice pasta, rice crackers, soy nuts, fried peas, quinoa... I can eat certain granola bars too, so long as there's no wheat.
This also means that a lot of fast food is now out of the question, unless I don't eat the bun/bread. I can't send out for pizza anymore. Some beers are off-limits cos they have wheat in them. Oh well.
This oughta be an interesting couple of months.
On a plus side, I did find some new ringtones for my mobile...
