Okay, since I haven't said anything of any real value since, what, before New Year's, I thought I would do a massive update, starting with New Year's Eve.
New Year's Eve:
silvara77 and I start off the day with a few errands, mostly to get Xmas gifts for my Mum and Dad, since we hadn't done the Christmas thing with thema s yet. We end up at Best Buy, where we get the second series of The Office, as well as The Office Special for Dad. Mum was going to get the DVD version of Pride and Prejudice, only to find out she already has it (thanks to calling Dad). So we go back and pick up Bridget Jones' Diary for her, as well as the book version of Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason. We also order up Chinese food, which is a really big thing in this area, for whatever reason that's unknown to me, and watch Dodgeball and The Bourne Supremacy, both of them ending before midnight. We toast the new year with some sparkling apple/grape cider (since she can't do champagne), and we get the call from her parents at midnight.
New Year's Day:
After a nice morning of just lounging around, we go to my parents' place to do the Christmas thing. Even Julius gets a lovely gift from my parents: a brand new bowl for his food.
silvara77 gets a really nice handmade polar fleece maternity robe from Mom, and I get as my big present this year:

Complete with spare styluses, hard case, 64MB memory card... Love it!
So, the rest of that weekend was pretty normal, so let's jump to the first day of the work week:
Monday, 3 January:
Well, how's this for the start of the new year at work?
I get taken to the hospital, all because a Dayquil pill gets stuck in my throat.
How bleedin' embarassing, getting wheeled out of work on a gurney, all for a stupid pill.
So now I'm on my way to Emerson Hospital in Concord to get checked out.
More later.
It's a little later now, and I'm checked in and registered. My current big concern is getting back to work somehow, at least to pick up my car. Concord ain't all that close to Littleton. At least the EMTs were cool.
*sigh*
Still embarassing, at least when it comes to the folks at work.
This place does not have all the hustle and bustle of what you see on ER. Not at all. It's so calm right now. I know I'm not an urgent case, so I'm okay right now.
By the way, this entry is being written on my new Palm Tungsten E.
Just saw a doctor, and I'm being cleared to leave. Rather quick turnaround.
So, Jeff from work comes to pick me up from the hospital, and all is well, apparently.
End of story.
The rest of the work week goes along nicely...
On Thursday, we had that snow storm. Not a big deal, but there was the threat of sleet and freezing rain to come, so...
Burk Technologies closes down at noon, and we all got to go home. I got home just as the sleet was coming in.
silvara77 already had the day off from school, so we were all home and warm and safe, so it was a lovely afternoon.
Which now brings us to the weekend, and we're staying in today too, since there's the storm coming. Relaxing, movies (perhaps starting the Lord of the Rings marathon today...
Hope everyone has a safe weekend, and we'll see you all later on.
Nothing more to report. Carry on.
