The Life of Pink
If you ask me, this storm, which was touted as being a real rip-snorter of a nor'easter, was rather a letdown.
My area was projected to get anywhere between 12 and 18 inches of snow. As it happened, we got less than the lower extreme on that. I had expected there to be a four-foot high berm at the end of the driveway. Wrong. I had expected a late opening of work. Fat chance. The only thing that I knew would happen was that C was going to be staying home to watch the snow, as Shrewsbury would cave into Worcester's peer pressure and cancel school for the day.
So I managed to make it in with no probs, even with a quick stop to get breakfast and beverages for the car and work. C let me take her car (as usual), so I plugged my CD player in, and blasted some selected tracks from that huge CD I made last December.
So enough ranting about the storm that never happened, at least where it should have. Damn thing tracked a little further east than expected, so the coast got the brunt of it again...
As a topper to the morning, I left my lunchtime book at home. I do have some backup stuff to read, though.
Yesterday's lunch was a slight downer. I ordered an American sub from wherever they ordered from yesterday. I was told that it was basically ham, bologna and cheese. Well, instead of the bologna, it was mortadella. In case you've never heard of or seen mortadella, imagine bologna with large chunks of white fat in it. Whatever, I don't like it. That's why I won't order an Italian without knowing what's in it first.
Lunch update: From this one shop it's ham and bologna. Better, but it didn't satisfy at all. Not to mention that I had my lunch a half hour later than usual after "holding someone's hand" in configuring a unit. At least the guy was nice through the whole thing, even if he didn't quite get it once and again.
Okay, it's just after 1530, and it's still coming down, although lightly. The commute home shouldn't be bad. I'm wondering if C will still have her Spanish class tonight. If so, late dinner. If not, dinner at usual time.
Tomorrow, I will be hitting the mat (quite literally) for the first time in a long time. My first of eight Aikido classes. I'm excited about it, even if my shoulder's been giving me some minor aches for a couple of weeks or so. I know, I should see a doctor about it, but ibuprofen does wonders for the pain. I'm not touching my prescription naproxen unless I'm comfortable at home. That stuff made me loopy last time.
Nothing else to report.
Carry on.
