Pink's Life
So I was out from work yesterday, completely unplanned.
What happened was this: from time to time, I get a flare-up of sacro-iliitis. This is an inflammation of the sacro-iliac joints that are in the pelvis. Since Tuesday, it's felt like there was a huge knot of pain in my left buttock. In the past, this has sometimes travelled to the right side, or even down my leg a little ways.
So on the way home Tuesday night, I call Fallon Urgent Care (hah!) to make an appointment. Sorry, they're full up for the night, and they close up shop at 9pm. There's no way they can fit me in. However, they're trying to direct me to emergency rooms in hospitals that I have no effing clue as to their location. (Marlboro and Milford. All because I mentioned I was currently on 495.) They suggested I call in on Wednesday to see if I can get in. I could have gone to Medical Center again, but I know I would have been left to my own devices and amusement for several hours before anyone would even do anything to help me combat the pain. I would have none of that. I would just prop myself up in bed, stick a moist heating pad under me, and hope for the best in the morning.
So Wednesday morning, after realizing that the self-prescribed megadoses of regular Tylenol weren't working, I called into work, said I would try to make it in if I was able to see someone early enough. Well I didn't get to see anyone until late morning, and my suspicions were confirmed, it is sacro-iliitis. I get scrips for Naproxen (500mg) and percocets. I take them to the pharmacy in the same building, only to be informed that the computers are down, and it will take several hours. Effing lovely! Now I would have to come back in late afternoon, in the rain and in pain.
Bottom line is: Fallon Urgent Care isn't. You still have to make an appointment to see anyone in a timely manner. I should have just walked (read: severely limped) in there and asked to see someone. I'll remember that for next time.
So my mom-in-law is heading back home today. Colleen's very very very down about that, and is fearful that she won't know what to do with Marcus. She has an appointment later this afternoon, so my Mom will be driving her there, and hopefully keep her company during the afternoon, and maybe tomorrow too. Dad will like that, since he has Fridays off and would love to spend time with the tyke.
It's currently 945, and our phones have been down all morning. This may make the day run slower. All we need now is for the power to go out too.
I think I've misplaced my diskette with the stuff I was working on for UF: SOCOM. Dammit.
Right, on with the weather. I'm tired of the rainy, dreary days we've been having. Supposedly we're getting warmer temps and some sun this weekend. I hope so. We need a nice weekend after all the rain we've had.
The first person that starts to complain of a water shortage or drought this summer gets a belt 'round the earhole from me.
