I'm not entirely sure how to read this... if someone else does, please explain.

This weekend was filled with lots of shopping. I went out on Saturday morning for a couple of hours and managed to get a few things we still needed for Christmas, plus I was able to get a couple of things for Colleen. I still have one more stop to do with that aspect. Sunday, we spent like $130 on photo development at CVS. Two SD Cards with multiple prints on some plus CDs. We're talking well over 300 photos here.

Also: released Benjy Mouse into the frozen wilds of Green Hill Park. It was kind of cute watching him scamper across the ice-covered snowdrifts up there. Hope he finds a new home somewhere up there and that he isn't a homing mouse. I think next time we'll tag the little buggers and see what they do. Though if Gerald manages to make it back from Littleton, I'll be very impressed, and I'll be calling the local uiversities with the news of a new breed of mouse -- the homing mouse. (Hell, if pigeons can do it...)

What I didn't get done:
Clean dishes and the kitchen. That's the big thing I want to get done tonight. It shouldn't take me long. I have to get the trash together for tomorrow anyway.
I also want to get the dining room squared away before we go.
I'm hoping that I'll have time to start sorting and washing clothes for the trip. I figure I won't have to bring too much, as we'll have access to a washer and dryer down there.
Also need to xerox various pages from some D&D books so I don't have to pack a lot of stuff to work on my huge City project.
My goal is to have the bags packed and ready to go by Thursday morning. That way we can pack the car Thursday night after I get home from work, and just bring down ourselves, Marcus and Julius and away we go.
Colleen wants to leave between 0300 and 0400. I told her she's driving the first leg then. I'll nap in the back with the kiddo. Julius will be in his carrier, in the front passenger seat, yowling away. I'll bet he'll settle down after the first couple of hours... most likely by sunup.

Four days until vacation.

New Marcus picture, sitting in the aftermath of his first snowfall on Turkey Day. Love the hat.

He's slowly but surely learning to pull himself into a seated position -- either by gripping our hands and pulling himself up, or by working at it himself. He's done the latter at least once already.
He also loves play peek-a-boo when we throw a blanket over his head. He pulls it off and gives us this big nearly-toothless grin and a laugh that's so sweet, you swear you'll get diabetes.
I think he's very nearly ready to crawl. He's working on getting into the right position for it. He just can't quite get his legs underneath him. He can sort of lunge, and he pivots on his tummy very well.
I love this kiddo. Lots.
He's gonna have so much fun in Virginia. Loved and spoiled by one and all.
