Okay, so here's this morning's timeline...
Just before 800 - walk out the door. Get my gear into Colleen's car, as I am using hers instead of mine (she has no school today). Clear off the car.
810 - slowly ease the car out of the driveway. Stop at Stop & Shop to grab a few sundry items in case I'm stuck at work for whatever reason.
820 - Back out on the road. Slow going, rather slippery in spots. Very slow going on the highway, especially when you catch up to the staggered column of plows clearing the roads.
903 - Inform work that I'm running a little late due to weather and slow traffic. Current position is on 495N, nearing the Rt 117 Bolton/Stow exit.
915 - Make it into work. Change out of my boots and into a pair of slipper-type shoes.
917 - Call Colleen to tell her I made it. She is less worried.
Here's my hope -- they decide that since the worst of the weather is coming this afternoon in time for the late afternoon/evening commute, we'll get a reprieve and be sent home early.
Hope springs eternal, though, doesn't it?
Don't get me wrong, I like snowy weather... just not driving in it.
