Okay, here's a rundown from this past week since Colleen and I got back from the wedding trip to Virginia.
Good things:
Now for the bad things...
That's all for now...
More news as events warrant...
Good things:
- Colleen gets back to school. She has a great time, and is still getting used to being called Mrs Johnson, though she still answers to Miss Waldron. The other teachers love her, as do her kids.
- We've got lots of presents... a lot of very useful presents at that, especially for the kitchen.
- The Renewal went off nicely, without a hitch. Colleen's kids were all excited and helped with decorating the hall. The parents donated the coffee and punch. Couldn't have asked for a better ceremony and reception.
- The Renewal dinner was great! Thanks to
zonereyrie,
ibabeu, and
that_xmas for being there... and all my other friends who don't have LJs too. Also want to thank all of Colleen's coworkers who were there. Everyone had a blast! - The post-renewal Gathering at my place went well. Opening presents, watching the Patriots game... seeing the start of the Redskins game... got to try a couple of new cheeses which were very tasty... big gathering at Chuck's Steakhouse... leftover New York Strip... good stuff all around, good times were had.
Now for the bad things...
- Colleen's parents couldn't make it up here. Her father started having some chest pains during the week. He went into hospital and had a couple of tests. Now they've found a couple of blockages, and as of today, he's going in for quadruple bypass surgery. Colleen's rather upset at all this, worried and concerned out of her skull. I keep telling her that he's going to be just fine. I hear he's in one of the best hospitals in northern VA for heart surgery. We wish he could have been up here for this, but it's quite understandable why he couldn't. We do ask that anyone and everyone who reads this send thoughts, energies and prayers for a successful surgery and complete and rapid recovery.
- For some reason, my sacro-iliaitis (sp?) or sciatica (sp?) is back. I'm walking a little funny, and it's tough to move around in the bed to get comfortable. Of course, the last time I went in to have this looked at, all they could give me was tylenol with codeine, since my other condition prevents me from taking anti-inflammatory meds for some reason. (volare, are you in the same boat?) So, it's just going to be moist heat and rest for me for a little while.
That's all for now...

knew something was missing. Goddammit I'm sorry.
Yeah in the same boat as far as anti-inflammatory goes...
vioxx, celebrex make me bleed...
have they tried you on Bextra yet?
that one worked ok for me and didn't freak out the system, you might give it a whirl...

Either that, or we'll have to meet up sometime.
