Well, here's the synopsis of the trip...

Colleen and I left on Wednesday afternoon just before 6pm... and arrived there about 330 am. Didn't get to bed until about 430.
Woke up the next morning around 10am so I could shower and get ready for the trip to C's mom's side of the family at her aunt's place. Not too bad, had some good food, watched some TV on this huge monster of a screen... met some nifty kitties...
Opened presents that night. Got the ZZ Top box set that just came out, as well as Alton Brown's I'm Just Here For the Food. Been reading that since I got it. :)
Friday was just... a day. Went out on my own, did a little shopping. Found some things for a common (for a lot of us) friend in the sand, and a couple of things for me. I was also able to find 2-liter bottles of Vernor's down there, so I snagged three of them. Good stuff, that.
Saturday saw C's dad's side come around. From her uncle, I got a Special Forces beret pin, shoulder tab, and a jump qualification pin. My new/used BDU shirt's gonna look spiffy!
We left on Sunday, around 11am. Didn't get home until after 10pm due to traffic and whatnot. but I did manage to get two large boxes of Arthur Treacher's hush puppies. Love them! Even good cold!

This week is going to see the Cleaning of the House. Needs to be done. Would like to have the bulk of it done by New Year's.

By the looks of things, everyone pretty much had an average Christmas/holiday. About what I expected, knowing my friends.
Hope that everyone has a decent NYE and recovery session on NYD.

Thing is, I love watching Good Eats, even if he's using something that I wouldn't even dream of eating in eons. The show is entertaining and informative. I've even used a couple of his recipes from the show (meatloaf and sweet potato pie).
