Ganked from zonereyrie...
1. What nicknames did you have once that people don't call you anymore? Do you have names that people are Forbidden to call you?
AJ... for both questions. I hate being called AJ. At Cub Scout camp, I was called Sci-Fi cos I was big on Star Wars and the like.
2. What was the first email you ever sent? First email you ever received?
Think I remember those? No way, that was like going on 15 years ago...
3. What do you say to someone when you want to shift the conversation from small talk to something more meaningful?
Depends... sometimes I try to link it, sometimes I just dive right in.
4. What about you, other than your body, tells you what gender you are?
Like other men, I like to take things apart and see how they work. I like things that go bang and boom, and I'm a tech-head. However, unlike other men, I have no real interest in cars or tools or the like.
5. Do you want to go see KRS One in Worcester on Friday?
Never heard of them.
6. What do you think of when you think of yourself?
In what manner? Intelligent, caring, creative, technically-minded, but damned lazy.
7. What if anything is too personal to talk about with anyone else?
Nothing, I guess, but only certain people will be cleared to know about that stuff.
8. Name five dream lives (ie "painter, beachcomber, botanist, porcupine, mystic")
Author, musician, teacher, martial artist, mage
9. Describe the ultimate chocolate treat.
Dark or dutch chocolate ice cream with a few dark chocolate chips in it, with hot fudge and butterscotch sauce.
10. Name and rank your favorite ice cream shops.
Considering that I don't eat a lot of ice cream anymore... plus I don't rank things, but I'll name a few: Ericson's (Maynard, MA), Rota Springs Farm (Boylston area, I think), Kimball's (Westford, MA), Uhlmann's (Westboro, MA)
11. How would you like to spend the next hour? (You decide how realistic you want to be about this. You can also make this into an hour long very realistic dream if you'd like.)
Relaxing, under some nice warm covers, with a good movie on TV and a good selection of munchies within reach... emphasis on warm.
12. Do I have plans with you for tomorrow (Saturday the 24th... oops I guess I mean "later today")?
Saturday evening, I went out with the wife and my parents to celebrate my 33rd birthday, which was on the 23rd. We went to Firefly's in Marlboro. It was worth the nearly 90 minute wait to get seated. Huge portions, lovely food, tasty BBQ sauces. Would go there again.
13. What do you think about as you're falling asleep or trying to get to sleep?
Usually what's on the radio, combined with anything else that's going on in the day...
14. What do you want to know about other people?
Whatever they clear me to know about...
15. What topics interest you to the point where you could stay on that topic for hours (reading, conversation, thinking, writing, whatever)?
Gaming, geek stuff, movies, TV, comics...
16. Describe an outfit you might like to own or wear. Money no object.
Nothing special leaps to mind...
17. How many hours of sleep do you get, on average, per night? How many hours does your body seem to need/want?
7-8 on average I would think... at least 6. As of late, I could use a bit more, hence the nap in the afternoon which is sometimes unintentional.
18. If you go to a gym, describe your workout routine.
Two machines for the legs, four for the arms, one set of free weights, and then the ab crunch machine.
19. What do you need right now, if anything, that you could have but that you are denyng yourself? Why are you denying yourself?
Truthfully I don't know... perhaps my meds... or the dentist. I don't want to hear the words "root canal" or "extraction."
20. Describe any rules you have or methods you practice for eating fortune cookies. Or for serving/receiving birthday cake with candles.
No rules
21. Do you consider yourself difficult to offend?
Pretty much...
22. Do you think people in general are stupid and/or shallow? Do you also suspect that if you *really* got to know someone picked at random from "people in general" that they will probably be just as smart, or just as deep, as anyone you know well now?
On average, I think people are on the stupid side, or at least ignorant. Shallow? Yeah, it gets to be the "every man for himself" when it comes to helping people out. Hell, I'm guilty of that one.
As for the random person, anything is possible.
