1. 1982, I think... could have been 1983. Either way, my gaming career is now of legal age.
2. I was 11, I think. 12 at the latest, cos I was still in elementary school.
3. It was a mixture of Basic/Expert D&D characters in Advanced D&D (1st ed) modules... I soon got primarily into just AD&D very soon after.
Now
1. 21, possibly 22
2. Pretty much consistently.
3. Right now, d20 (D&D 3.x, Stargate SG1, Call of Cthulhu), since now everything is in a logical system that makes sense. HERO 5e, because you can create damn near any effect you want, but with a few limitations.
4. White Wolf, mostly because I'm not into the Vampire thing... the actual RPG system isn't too bad, I'm just not into the genre. I think Abberant falls into this category too. Also, Palladium... great settings, lousy system.
5. Play a character, mostly because that's all I've been doing these past few years.
6. Fantasy, military, espionage, investigations, some horror...
Campaigns
1. Sunday group. We started probably about five years ago. All the main characters are still alive (and in epic levels). The system started out as AD&D 2e Skills & Powers, but when 3e came out, we converted over rather successfully. We've managed to stop a group of orcs and goblins from creating an Uber Orc Demigod, erased the orcish presence from our island, got lost in another dimension for what we though was only a few days but turned out to be like five or ten years in our world... I'm most likely forgetting quite a lot here...
2. Probably my Beyond the Supernatural campaign, back when I was at UMass...
3. A D&D 3e campaign where everyone was, well, evil. I played a neutral evil fighter/rogue who was striving to become an assassin. Everyone was doing bad things just for the sake of being evil... I was trying to have a purpose to my character.
A Hero 4e campaign where the characters were a special branch of the FBI. I like investigation games from time to time, especially when a player will throw out his idea for the mystery's solution, and the GM likes it so much, he'll throw elements of that solution in, even when he didn't plan for it. (You know who you guys are.)
The longest running campaign listed above.
D&D 3e campaign that's heavily Irish/Celtic based.
Characters
1. Cuddy Glodsson - Dwarf Fighter, level 22 in D&D 3e. Originally created in 2e S&P.
Arcane, in all of his variations - HERO/Champions 4e.
Brother Theo - Human Monk, level 9, D&D 3e variation mimicking one of the Ultima computer games.
Ruaidhri mac con Uladh - Half elf Rogue/Ranger 4/4, D&D 3e, Celtic-Irish based campaign.
2. Not sure...
3. Right now, Cuddy Glodsson, the Dwarven Cuisinart with an axe...
4. Chief Engineer in a Star Trek campaign that lasted only about an hour after character creation, due to a misunderstanding of the captain's orders, combined with a character's stupidity after the misunderstanding led to a major mishap in the ship's
5. Either Eric Hunterson (Ranger) or Garret Grunstuck (Druid) in a D&D 3.5e game.
6. I think I've played a female character less than a handful of times.
Library
1. Rather extensive, I would think... after all the years of gaming... spread over six half-height bookshelves, organized into genres.
2. Eclectic. It's got some sort of organization though...
3. Anything White Wolf... I wouldn't really miss any of the Palladium games I have, at least after I've converted things over to another (better) system...
4. Morrow Project, Millennium's End, TimeLords, Twilight 2000...
5. AD&D 1st edition, Morrow Project
6. A few... Witchcraft, Hackmaster...
7. Hackmaster
Miscellaneous
1. Somewhat
2. Certain colors for certain rolls or certain characters... haven't really started doing any of the hints and tips in the back of the Hackmaster PHB yet though...
3. Not yet...
4. I've used a laptop once or twice, just as a reference tool.
5. No.
6. Yes. Total Confusion 2002-2004, Carnage on the Mountain 2002. That would make four. Yes, I'd go back.
7. Too expensive in most cases. Stargate SG1 was $50 cover price! That's why I look at eBay, Overstock.com, and the like.
