A couple of people (primarily [livejournal.com profile] 7threality and [livejournal.com profile] ibabeu have asked me and/or seemed interested in a gaming software package called eTools, which is a character generator/tracker and campaign aid for D&D 3e and 3.5e.

Anyone else who would be interested might want to check out Code Monkey Publishing, the makers of eTools. If anyone else decides to get it, I can point you guys to some really cool fansites with better character sheets.

So, it looks like it's capable of handling house rules and monster generation. The problem is, it's a bit much for my laptop to handle.

Do you have the full package (the 3.5e rules), and have you played with any of the stuff other than the character sheets? What's your opinion on the monster generation and other things?

I have both the 3.0 (PHB, DMG, MM, Psi, Savage Species, Epic Level, splatbooks) and 3.5 (PHB, DMG, MM) data sets.

I haven't done too much on the GM side as of yet, since I haven't GM'ed a game in quite a while. From what the forums say, they can't be all bad. I should play around with them a bit before I can truly make an informed opinion.

For that, you get the 3.0 base data set. The 3.5 set is another $6.something... then there are the other bundle packs you can get too with the other books...
