Long weekend here, so...

Friday: [livejournal.com profile] silvara77's parents made it up here safe and sound. They came over that night, and I cooked my nearly world-famous braised pork chops and a sauce derived from chicken broth, along with roasted potatoes and carrots. The whole meal went over very well. We just spent the rest of the night hanging out. Oh, and we did have the game on, and watched the Sox beat out the Angels.

Saturday: Woke up with a swollen jaw for some reason. The four of us went to breakfast at a local eatery up the road called Riley's, and then we decided that I should go to Fallon's Urgent Care and have someone look at my jaw. Well, I did that in rather short order. The PA who saw me was the PA that I used to see years ago at my doctor's office. He remembered me and my other condition, and diagnosed the problem as a swollen gland. I was put on Keflex (sp?) for an antibiotic. The rest of the day was spent shopping and just hanging out. Instead of going to the Horseshoe Pub for dinner, we just ordered in from Lincoln House of Pizza, also just up the road.

Sunday: [livejournal.com profile] silvara77, her parents, my parents and I went to the Connecticut Ren Faire in Woodstock. Not as large as King Richard's, but also not as expensive, about half the price. Everyone had a good time. The only down point was the food. For the most part, it wasn't that good. There were lots of vendors there, and I found a couple of swords I would like to have, but they were both over $200. Afterwards, we came home, and ordered Chinese food in. [livejournal.com profile] silvara77's parents stayed through the first half of the Redskins-Ravens game, and went back to their hotel at halftime. Thing is, the 'Skins were doing well in the first half. They tanked the second half and lost. I blame the fact that her parents went back to the hotel for the second half. If they stayed, maybe they would have won. Hehe.

Monday: Basically a day of errands and hanging out. The real event was in the evening. We all went to Leo's for our First Anniverary Dinner, then came back here to hang for a while. [livejournal.com profile] silvara77's parents brought up the top layer of our wedding cake from last year, but we didn't eat it as [livejournal.com profile] silvara77 thought it smelled like the frosting may have fermented or something.

Now it's all back to business as usual. Her parents head back home today after having a great time up here. The next time that we'll see them will be during the Christmas/New Year's week. At least [livejournal.com profile] silvara77 will get to see them. If I'm working, I'm not sure if I would be able to get that time off.

Anyways, Happy First Anniversary to us. It doesn't seem like it's been a year, and yet it does, you know?

Nothing more to report.
Carry on.
