I'm going to break this up into a few categories here, since there may be a lot. If it's really a lot, I'll put a cut in there somewhere.

Red Sox Nation
What else can be said about one of the most historical moments in baseball history? Eight straight post-season wins, not only to spank the Yankees, but to also win the World Series. It's just unbelievable. Half the time, I felt like I was in a waking dream, that it couldn't be happening.
But it did.
Somehow, though, it does seem to be a bit on the anticlimactic side... and I'm not the only one who feels this way. I think that the ALCS series was the one we really had to win. Don't get me wrong, though, I'm happy to see that we won, and that any of our children born after this day will not carry any stigma of the Curse that had befallen upon our beloved Boys of Summer.
Some asshat in the Worcester Telegram wrote that we, the Red Sox Nation, needed to lose the World Series, to keep the Curse alive in order to maintain the Nation as it stands. He insinuates that we're brought together by the heartache of disappointment year after year. Bullshit. We needed this win. We got this win. And we're damned happy about it.
Another note concerning this: On the way back from my interview (see below) this morning, I stopped at Dick's Sporting Goods to snag some official shirts. I was standing amongst the small mob (less than a hundred people, I wagered) when the announcement came over their PA that the shirts would be delayed due to a massive backup at Logan Airport. Okay, I left, grabbed some lunch, and went back, arriving there around 215pm. By 240pm, I was out the door with two shirts, which was the limit for that shipment. I'll be going back very early tomorrow morning to get the caps and a shirt for me. Dad's getting a shirt and cap for his birthday.
Thanks, Red Sox Nation and Team Members. You've given us hope, morale, and a smile that we won't be wiping from our faces for a long time to come.

The Job Hunt
Wednesday morning, I had a phone interview for Second Level Help Desk at a GE installation up in Wilmington. Hopefully it went well.
Today, I had an interview at, get this, the US Army Reserve post at Devens (formerly Fort Devens), as a PC/Help Desk Tech. Should I get this one, it'll be quite interesting.

Fatherhood
Mind you, the fact that sometime in May, I'll be the father of a child. A living, breathing child. Mind you, the concept is both exciting and scary at the same time. Gods know I'll be doing my best with what can be figured as on-the-job training. There are no manuals for each kid that comes along, you know?
Right now, little M is the size of a lime.

That's all I have right now.
Carry on.
