That's it.
I quit.
Four more years of jobs being shipped overseas, which means that I may not be able to get a decent permanent job. I'll be bouncing between contracts and unemployment.
Four more years of, as a friend of mine put it, depression and anger.
At this point, I would have settled for the long, drawn-out fight that might have given a glimmer of hope.
Okay, now that he's won, can he get his friends in the Middle East to lower the prices of fuel so we can fill our tanks for less than a Jackson again? (At least, those of us who aren't driving those monstrous SUVs...)
Just so you know, I respect the Office of the President, not necessarily the man who occupies it.
Those of you who have me on your friends list and disagree with me on this one, it's your right to, That's what this nation is based upon.

My kids are TERRIFIED of a draft.

As for the draft... well... I wouldn't put it past him, but it will have to go through Congress first. Oh wait, this little action that we've got going in the sand wasn't approved by Congress... Think he'll run a naked bootleg around them again with this one?

One way to look at it.. Many more people have decided to buy hybrids based on the high gas prices. All of a sudden they don't seem that bad when you think of the fuel savings. In fact I think there is a long waiting list to get a Prius. And they are getting more than MSRP for 'em.
I think lower gas prices will just encourage people to keep buying the gas guzzlers..
When it comes to be $4.00 per gallon, hopefully other technologies get a chance. Necessity is the momma of invention.

A couple of friends of mine own hybrids -- a Prius and one of the Hondas... an Accord, I think, I'm not sure. I know it's a Honda. So they're pretty much set with this. I'd love it even more if we could just swap out the engines in some of the older cars, say 2000 and up, but that would be quite a bit more work than it's probably worth.
If it ever does get up to $4.00 a gallon, I'll quit again.
