At last, sunlight!
So where was I? Oh yes...
Friday night wasn't all that special, just the usual stuff, including tidying up the place for C's family.
Saturday was filled with much the same in the morning, getting the place ready. They arrived in early afternoon, and we all just hung out at the apartment, with them going absolutely ape over Marcus.
Saturday night, we went to Firefly's for dinner. It was Marcus' first time in a high chair (with some rolled-up blankets as bolsters and space fillers), and he behaved himself very well, watching everything that was going on around him.
Sunday was Marcus' christening. More on that in another post.
Sunday afternoon and evening was more hanging out, watching football, and going ape over Marcus. We all went to the 99 for dinner, and again, Marcus was an absolute dream. Very little crying at all, and any of his high-pitched sounds were happy sounds, though there was one woman in a booth near us who just kept rolling her eyes and staring daggers at us. (Perhaps a belated FU entry here.)
Which brings us back to today, Monday.
I started the day out normally. I fuelled up the car without a hitch.
I went to have blood drawn at Fallon on Plantation Street. Usually, no biggie, and I'm used to the little pinprick in my arm. However, the pinprick was followed by a bit of pain as the needle moved around a little. He took that one out and did the stick again, this time with success. He said that it was the worst stick he's done in his life. I walked out of there feeling all right, telling him it was no bother, but fuck, did it hurt for a little while afterwards.
I kept hearing reports of a rollover accident on 495N by Rt 62 (Berlin/Hudson), but there was nothing.
Made it to work with a minute to spare.
More later...
