Pink's Life

And so it's Monday once again, and I'm back at work after a week of being at home with the wife and kiddo.
Did I get anything done? Not really. Front room hasn't been touched. PC is still down, though I did end up having to purchase a new hard drive, since my primary one had some physical problems with it. Now I've got another problem with the new installation. More on that later.
So what did I get done? Started and finished Dead Beat, the latest in the Dresden Files. Started Rogue Warrior: Vengeance. Got ideas for doing an urban fantasy setting for Dark Champions: Hudson City, keeping sort of inline with the Harry Dresden thing. Ate a lot of chicken dishes that were sent to us from Colleen's coworkers. Ran some errands. Got a DVR box installed from the cable company. Was not able to check email. Couldn't check LJ for anything. (I'll have to go and check individual LJs for various bits and bobs.)

I did spend quite a bit of bonding time with Marcus though. He's doing well, nearly back up to his birthweight. He's also 23 inches now. He's also very fussy as of late, wanting to be fed every 2-3 hours.
However, he was a hit at a party this past weekend, held by Colleen's church chorus director. Everyone thought he was just a wonderful kiddo. Well of course he is. You'll get no argument from us on that.

So my new PC problem:
New Maxtor 120GB HD. Fresh install of XP. It gets to where it's loading the desktop (with that damned hill wallpaper), and as it's loading the icons and such, it goes into a reboot. It continues to do this. Any thoughts, PC gurus out there?
I am thinking on doing a second fresh install at some point this week, so that's no real bother... but I wanted some other opinions first. I thought it might have to do with a USB2.0 card I had in a slot without the proper drivers too.
