Okay, don't anyone tell Colleen any of this...

I'm considering buying her an MP3 player for VDay.

I'm looking to spend under $100 for it (I'd like to get one, too, now that I think about it). It has to have 1GB of memory. It doesn't have to have removable memory either. Long battery life is also important, preferably using a regular battery rather than an internal rechargable.

Any thoughts? I'm looking at a SanDisk model that looks pretty good...

just an MP3 player?

I have a little one called a Rio that works fantastic. I use it when i run, work out, etc. because it straps onto the arm, I hit play, and I'm done.

These are "refurbished", but I got a good deal and good value:

I perused the site, and I wasn't wholly impressed with them. I like the SanDisk one that I've got my eye on as it has 1GB storage and 19 hours of playtime on one AAA battery. The SanDisk also has 20 FM station presets.
Also, I selected one of the models, and even though it said on the front page that it was in stock, the shopping cart said out of stock.

Thanks for the pointer.

I'll make the obvious suggestion: http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/ - $79, free engraving.

$149 bumps you to a 2GB Nano: http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/

Which SanDisk are you looking at?

Sansa M240 1GB. I picked it up already.

I saw the iPod Shuffle... I didn't like it. No display screen.
The SanDisk has an FM tuner which is good for us too.

I got one for myself as well, as the radio in my car's crap, and I'm going to pick up some battery-powered speakers.
