So...

Last night, C and I drift off to sleep around 10pm...
I am awakened later on by a slight discomfort in my left ankle. For some reason, my brain decides to move my foot.
Big mistake.
Now I've had night cramps before, but those are the ones in the calf, and I can stop those pretty quickly. However, this one was in my ankle, and it was some of the worst pain that I couldn't stop in my life. Colleen sat right up in bed, all worried, but felt helpless cos she couldn't do anything. Hell, I couldn't do anything either. How do you stop the ones in the ankle??
Well, it did finally cease after a while, plus I had to hobble to the loo at that point anyways. Ankle feels fine right now.
However, my lower back feels like I've been shot and it just nicked the cord -- not enough for numbing spinal shock, but enough to cause a lot of pain. The only thing I have here at work is Tylenol. I hope that it can take some of the edge off so that I can function sort of normally today.
Atropine and cortisone, maybe with a touch of morphine would do me some wonders right now.

Updates when warranted.

That much I gathered. I've been drinking orange juice every day mostly to combat the oncoming cold, and potatoes usually figure into my diet somewhere every couple of days...
Maybe I do need to throw a banana in there.

Calves I can see, but my ankle??

They can be anywhere you have muscles. The worst ones I've ever had were down the front of my shins.

I once had one in my big toe. Sure, it hurt, but not as severe. There was more of an amusement or "damnedest thing" factor in there though.

*nods*
esp. in the ankle, the tendons can cramp up something friggin horrible... sort of an extension of the calf cramps since it's the same muscles involved.

heh, leg cramps seem to be contagious this week, I had the most hellacious charley horse yesterday down my *hamstring* of all the painful muscles.... like, writhing friggon agony type thing. chugged a bottle of gatorade and it went away.
