Okay, here we go...
Friday night:
silvara77 and I go to the Horseshoe Pub in Hudson for a 'gweep gathering organized by
zonereyrie, who didn't show due to migraines earlier in the day. S'okay, got to see a lot of the gweep and WedgeRat crowd that I hadn't seen in ages. Of course, it took some of them a little time to recognize me, since I've lost weight since my WPI days 15 years ago. We both had a great time, and would definitely go back to the 'Shoe for food. Afterwards, we just came home and sacked out while watching JAG, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG-1.
Saturday: Thanks to one member of our group being forgetful of his SO's birthday, we had no place to play, so it was yet another week of us not playing in Darryl's game. So,
silvara77 and I did a few errands. We also rented Ella Enchanted (which was surprisingly good... and even though it's not my favorite Queen song, there's a rendition of "Find Me Someone to Love" that wouldn't have Freddie Mercury twirling in his casket) and The Punisher (which changed his origins a little, but it worked... and there were even elements from the current run of comics written by Garth Ennis). Tom Jane (from Punisher) could play Christopher Lambert's brother... I think they resemble each other quite a bit.
Sunday: Finally, we get to game! Our friend Emily is finally back from California with her daughter Aiyre from California while her husband (
lawful_evil) is still on the Left Coast doing a project for Raytheon. We've started up a new campaign, still using the 3e rules, but with a major twist in the use of magic. Should prove to be interesting. We came home, and made sure that certain parties that didn't know about our expectations (re: the little one due in May, to whom we refer as 'M') finally knew. Everyone's excited for us. We sort of putzed around for a little while, scrounged for dinner, and watched a documentary about the Star Wars history and phenomena (do do de do do) on A&E.
So now I'm sitting here, sipping on a Midori & Sprite to wind down the evening before bed...
Tomorrow, I've got to take the DVDs back to Blockbuster and go through the papers for job listings. Found a few to which I'll send resumes, and a few more to investigate.
More later as news warrants.
