Just some thoughts...
I hate being out of work... temporary layoff or no...
I start feeling useless, and it gets me down. When I feel like that, I don't feel like attacking the house with the act of cleaning. It gets on Colleen's nerves, granted. Hell, I know that things need to be done. I keep saying that I'm going to work on it, but in the end, I do very little towards the goal. What I need is a kick in the pants at times.
I'll work on the house during the day (taking a few breaks for food, email and LJ perusal, and a breather here and there), and then I can work on my Fantasy Hero campaign at night.
I'm seeing the eye doctor this afternoon. just a checkup on the irits.
Colleen's seeing a doctor at Fallon Urgent Care (*snort*). Her ears have started to hurt, and she's headachy, nauseous, and running a mild temperature. I say ear infection, and I'll bet that she'll be on antibiotics before the night's out.
Speaking of Colleen, one of her major stresses is over and done with -- mounds of work to grade and report cards. She got them done last night. Now, she's got parent conferences tonight and tomorrow.
Wish I had better news, but at least something's sort of going on...
More later as news warrants...

1) It's not that I want to leave MA... I can't leave. Colleen has a great job here, and it may be worse for her to find a teaching job elsewhere. She's settled in. End of any ideas of moving anywhere outside of a 30 minute maximum radius of Shrewsbury.
2) What the hell does Kellogg Brown and Root do? I'm just a PC/Network Tech... I don't know much else in the big wide world out there... unless they need someone well-versed in the world of RPGs...

While I wouldn't mind being overseas and out of the country for a little while, I don't think I could handle being away for extended periods of time, especially since I'm a newlywed, and I don't relish the idea of being stuck somewhere and I can't speak the language... or worse yet, can't eat the food.
If I wanted to be deployed somewhere, I'd have joined the Navy long ago. I'd do it now, but I'd probably end up 4F with my medical conditions.
